THE STORY SO FAR…
Black Hole Records is the brainchild of brothers, Brian and Andrew Haines, who share a passion to develop and promote Kenyan and African artists into world-class recording and performing acts.

The duo draw on rich musical experiences and a range of influences from Rock to Trap and Reggae to Electro, while maintaining fidelity to their African roots in the creation of crisp and unique soundscapes. Despite still being in their early twenties, they have gained extensive professional audio and video production experience and exposure, through sound engineer and technical assistant roles on major Kenyan TV productions, including Coke Studio Africa, Tusker Project Fame, Safaricom BLAZE BYOB and KCB Lion's Den.
Black Hole’s young music entrepreneurs enjoy the support of highly experienced, international and local business development, marketing and production expertise. They have been mentored by some of Kenya’s top media production professionals and musical talent from across the continent, and cite working with Coke Studio Africa’s original Music Director, renown Cameroonian musician and producer Franck Biyong, as a main inspiration. In 2014, the brothers were especially privileged to work with Franck on the recording of his tenth studio album Moon Watching
From their studio base in Langata, Nairobi, Kenya, Black Hole Records provides composition, recording, production, digital event and content services. The company’s unique artist development programme includes the label’s proprietary RAW RAPZ™ platform, a key pillar in their quest to cultivate young emerging talent that will ultimately evolve and diversify the face of African music across international markets.
